For the first time in 100 years of existence of the Hugo Häffner GmbH, the company`s new soccer team, composed of employees, former and also still active district and national league players, successfully participated to its first tournament. At the beginning of July our team sensationally, and for all experts unexpectedly, managed to reach the 2nd Place of the ExxonMobil Chemical tournament (,, 3. Gummibärchen Cup '' ) in Cologne.

Already at the beginning of the tournament the team, formed around captain Nicole Raisch, had a tough game and was qualified thanks to an undecided scoreless match against the later winner of the competition and a victory 3 to 0 to the favourite. However in the last game, due to the bad injury of Marc Elison the rhythm decreased and the team lost in the very last seconds of the match. The team wishes Marc a quick recovery without further complications. This great result naturally encouraged us to consider other participations to such tournaments and we will be pleased to welcome other colleagues in our team.
